Types Of Tinnitus

Tinnitus (Tin-a-tus, TIN-ih-tus or Tin-eye-tus) can either be;
 
1. Objective Objective tinnitus only occurs in very rare circumstances when your doctor is able to hear the noises that you hear using special hearing equipment applied to your ear. This type of tinnitus can include
 
Pulsatile tinnitus which results in you being able to hear your own heartbeat. Pulsatile tinnitus causes include having high blood pressure, chronic stress, suffering from depression or anxiety or if you have arterial damage. Pulsatile tinnitus symptoms are the same as those for subjective tinnitus.
 
2. Subjective Subjective tinnitus occurs in most cases of tinnitus when only you can hear noises that you are unable to find a source. In addition to the noises, you may also suffer from discomfort or pain in the ear especially if you have impacted earwax. Also, the noises may be constant or may let up every now and then.

  • Hissing
  • Humming
  • Whooshing
  • Whistling
  • Squeaking
  • Chirping
  • Roaring
  • Ringing
  • Clicking
